Triple murder at Littleton bowling alley remains unsolved

LITTLETON, Colo. — It’s been 18 years since three people were shot to death inside a Littleton bowling, and to this day their killer or killers have never been found.
Bobby Zajac, Erin Golla and James Springer were shot to death inside the closed bowling alley at 5485 S. Broadway in Littleton around 11:50 p.m. on Jan. 27, 2002, according to a Facebook post from Metro Denver Crime Stoppers.

Jefferson County Detention Facility Inmate Early Releases Begin Today

Beginning today, the Jefferson County Sheriff is starting to release inmates early as part of a new jail management plan. The jail management plan became effective on January 1st, 2020 and is the result of a $5.5 million budget reduction for the year.
Former Spanish teacher sentenced for kissing student, sending nude photos
CENTENNIAL, Colo. — A former Spanish teacher at Arapahoe High School was sentenced Monday on accusations that she kissed a student-athlete and sent the 16-year-old boy nude photos of herself over Snapchat.
Sarah Elise Porter pleaded guilty in November to one count of attempted sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust.

Defense argues older suspect in STEM School shooting was not a willing participant in attackns
DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. — The judge heard two different narratives about what motivated the older of the two suspects in the deadly STEM School Highlands Ranch shooting during the first day of what’s scheduled to be a three-day preliminary hearing.
The private defense attorneys representing Devon Erickson, 19, said his then-16-year-old codefendant Alec McKinney forced him to steal guns from his parent’s home, snort cocaine, and then bring the weapons to room 107 of their K-12 charter school, where an English literature class was watching “The Princess Bride.”

Repeat sex offender faces decades in prison for South Platte River Trail assault

LITTLETON, Colo. — An Arapahoe County jury convicted known sex offender Johnny Dewayne Harris, Jr. on all charges related to the sexual assault and attack of a woman on the South Platte River Trail in 2018, the 18th Judicial District announced.
The jury began deliberating Wednesday afternoon following a three-day trial and returned a guilty verdict Thursday morning on the following charges:

Scam Targets Colorado Churchgoers With ‘Generous Hearts’

CBS4) – Worshippers are the latest target for scammers trying to make a quick dollar. On Wednesday the Jefferson County Sheriff sent out a warning to a coalition of churches who participate in their safety in faith workshops notifying leaders about a scam targeting local congregations.
John Larson has been a pastor at Ascension Lutheran Church in Littleton for 13 years. In that time, he has developed a sense of community in his sanctuary.
