More than a dozen JeffCo schools on lockout due to ‘police activity’

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colorado — More than a dozen schools within the Jefferson County Public School District were placed on lockdown Tuesday afternoon, according to a Tweet from the district.

In a Facebook post, the district said there was police activity in the areas. A spokesperson for the district said that everyone was safe and that law enforcement asked the district to place the schools on lockout as they searched for a “suspicious person.”
